The Indiana Smoke Diver course is a six-day, 60 hour program designed for the experienced firefighter who desires realistic training in self-survival, firefighter rescue, advanced search & rescue, thermal imaging, emergency procedures, teamwork, discipline, team leadership, situational awareness and decision making as well as how to function within the elements of the Incident Command System.
The program condenses and replicates the extreme demands that may be placed on firefighters at any incident. Its design allows each candidate to understand and manage their physical and mental limitations under safe but stressful realistic conditions. In short, this course is for those interested in pursuing intense physical and mental training that will push self-imposed limitations.
This preparation program has been specifically designed by the Director of ISD Operations to prepare you mentally and physically for the Indiana Smoke Diver program. The goal of this program is to have your body as strong and durable as possible for one of the most difficult classes offered in the fire service.
*Half of the proceeds of the sale of this program will go directly to the Indiana Smoke Diver Association, an entirely volunteer run 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
